The Fedrigoni family have been part of the paper world since 1717, when the San Colombano paper mill was set up in Valarsa-Roverto, Italy. The concept for this brief is based on 'The Little Black Dress'. With Italy being one of the world's fashion capitals, a fashion inspired theme to promote 'The New Black' links the paper with the companies roots in Italy.
The samples of Fedrigoni Sirio Ultra Black have been cut into pieces that can be constructed into a little black dress. The pieces themselves are decorated with intricate cut patterns made up of all things black.
In response to the brief the templates for the 'Little Black Dress' have been collated into a booklet, which can be sent out as a marketing tool to promote the New Sirio Ultra Black Paper Range. On opening the book information about the paper and the content of the book can be found.
The target audience for this piece is aimed towards designers alike which is why a piece that involves creating was chosen in the response to this brief. The piece will allow designers to get a feel for the tactile textures and striking surfaces of the Sirio Ultra Black paper and will allow them to image how the paper can be manipulated in many ways with this example in which can be displayed as a decorative peice.
